Faithfull Flexifit Trowel Blade, Stainless Steel - 405mm (16in)
The 405mm (16in) stainless steel blade from the Faithfull Flexifit range. This is the blade only. It slides onto the Faithfull Flexifit Master Trowel, 200 x 70mm, the handle unit for the whole range, which is bought separately. The Flexifit range is a system: one master trowel handle, and interchangeable blades in different sizes and materials that slide onto it. Buy the blade you need now and add others later.
This is the same tool as the 405mm (16in) plastic blade in a different blade material, and the material changes what it does to the plaster. A stainless steel blade draws water up to the surface, leaving the wall ready to decorate. A plastic blade does the opposite: it keeps the water in, so the plaster stays workable for longer. Most plasterers use them at different stages rather than choosing one.
The blade is 0.3mm stainless steel on a 10mm water-resistant foam backing. Thin and highly flexible, it responds to hand pressure rather than staying dead flat. Stainless will not rust, so it does not mark wet plaster and cleans off easily. Double-edged, square corners down one side and rounded down the other.

Does this come with a handle?
No. This is the blade on its own. It fits the Faithfull Flexifit Master Trowel, 200 x 70mm, which is the handle unit for the whole Flexifit range and is bought separately.
Is this a different tool from the 16in plastic blade, or the same tool in steel?
The same tool in a different blade material. Both are 405mm (16in) Flexifit blades on a 10mm foam backing and both fit the same master trowel. The difference is what the face does to the plaster: steel draws water up to the surface, the plastic blade keeps it in. The plastic blades also run to 457mm (18in) if you want more length.
Plastic blade or stainless steel?
They do different things to the plaster. A plastic blade does not draw water to the surface, so the plaster stays workable for longer and you can bring it to a matte face without wetting the final coat. The stainless steel blade draws water up to the surface instead, leaving the wall ready to decorate.
Can one master trowel take all the blades?
Yes. The Faithfull Flexifit Master Trowel, 200 x 70mm takes every blade in the Flexifit range — plastic with foam, plastic without foam, and stainless steel. Slide it out of one blade and into the next; no tools and no fixings.
What does the foam backing actually do?
The foam-backed blades sit on a 10mm water-resistant foam pad, so the blade flexes under the pressure of your hand instead of staying dead flat. That gives you more control over how hard the blade bites and helps it follow a wall that is not perfectly true. The 355mm (14in) no-foam blade does without the pad — it is a thicker 2mm plastic blade that stays rigid, for a more traditional feel.

RETURNS
Damaged and Faulty Goods
If your goods are damaged or faulty, we will replace the goods free of charge. If you do not want a replacement, delivery charges may be incurred to collect the item from you. Do not install any damaged items. This counts as acceptance of goods and the item is then non-returnable and non-refundable. Damaged goods must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, please contact us by emailing websales@beattys.ie or by phone on (091) 841403. In the event that goods are received in a damaged state please retain the product together with any packaging and contact us within 48 hours of receipt with photographic evidence. In the case of an item being faulty we may require an inspection by a manufacturer's qualified engineer to be carried out on the item in the location where it is installed. This is so the nature of the fault can be ascertained before we can arrange for a replacement.
All products leave our premises in perfect condition. The customer must notify the carrier (or postman) of even the slightest trace of damage (holes, signs of crushing, etc.) to the parcel, and refuse the package if necessary.
Unwanted Goods
Do not install or use any unwanted items. This counts as acceptance of goods and the item is then non-returnable and non-refundable. You have a statutory right to return unopened goods up to 14 days after receiving your order (“the cooling off period”) and you have a further 14 days to return the goods. If you are not ordering a replacement, a charge may be incurred to collect the item from you. You must notify us of your wish to cancel within 14 days, starting the day after delivery. You have the choice of returning the goods via your own means ( Beattys of Loughrea, Church Street, Loughrea, Co. Galway) or requesting that we collect them. If you request collection, we will collect the goods on the next available date that one of our delivery vehicles is in your area. You have a duty of care while the goods are in your possession and we reserve the right to charge you for any damage that may have occurred during this period.
We reserve the right to apply re-handling charges for returned items under some circumstances:
- The goods received back are 'as new' but incomplete; i.e. missing components and/or accessories.
- The returned products are missing their original packaging.
- The cancellation was requested after the 14 day notification period.
We do not accept returns and will not provide refunds under the following circumstances:
- The goods you wish to return are in any condition other than 'as new'.
- The goods have been installed and/or used.
- Cables have been cut or terminated.
Refunds will be reimbursed within 30 working days of the cancellation date.
