TP-Link AV1000 Gigabit Powerline AX1500 Wi-Fi 6 Kit (TL-WPA7817)
Struggling with Wi-Fi dead spots? This TP-Link AV1000 Gigabit Powerline AX1500 Wi-Fi 6 Kit extends your network through your home's existing electrical wiring, then broadcasts a strong Wi-Fi signal exactly where you need it. The kit pairs the TL-WPA7817 — a combined powerline and Wi-Fi 6 extender unit — with the TL-PA7017, a powerline-only adapter you plug in near your router.
The extender unit's Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) radio runs on the 5GHz band at up to 1201Mbps, while a separate 2.4GHz band (802.11b/g/n, Wi-Fi 4) covers up to 300Mbps for wider-range, lower-bandwidth devices — combined, these give the kit its "AX1500" rating. The Powerline connection between the two units uses the HomePlug AV2 standard for gigabit-class speeds of up to 1000Mbps over your home's wiring, with a rated range of up to 300m/1000ft — though real-world range and speed will depend on your home's wiring and any electrical interference.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's included in the box?
Two units: the TL-WPA7817 (which combines powerline networking with a Wi-Fi 6 access point) and the TL-PA7017 (a powerline-only adapter with no Wi-Fi), plus the cables needed to connect each to your router/devices.
Does this kit support Wi-Fi 6 on both bands?
No — Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) runs on the 5GHz band only, up to 1201Mbps. The 2.4GHz band uses the older 802.11b/g/n (Wi-Fi 4) standard, up to 300Mbps. Together they make up the kit's AX1500 rating.
How far will it reach?
The powerline connection is rated for up to 300m/1000ft over household electrical wiring, but actual range and speed depend on your home's wiring and any electrical interference.
Is it secure?
Yes — it uses WPA3 security with 128-bit AES encryption to protect your network.
Do I need technical knowledge to set it up?
No — setup and management is handled through the tpPLC app (Android/iOS), and the Wi-Fi Clone feature can automatically copy your existing router's network name and password onto the extender.
