The SC3 Deluxe Home turns a litre of ordinary tap water into steam in 30 seconds and delivers it at up to 3.5 bar, so grease, grime and limescale come away with far less scrubbing than you would normally put in. A 1,900 W heater keeps the steam coming, and because the machine cleans with heat rather than chemicals, there is no detergent residue left behind on floors, tiles, worktops or shower screens.
What separates the Deluxe from the standard SC3 is the illuminated LED ring on the body — one glance tells you whether the machine is still heating or ready to work, instead of pulling the trigger to find out. The Home kit then adds a power brush and a brass brush to the usual accessory set, which is what you want for baked-on grease on a hob, grout lines, or a barbecue grill.
The 1 litre tank can be topped up at any point, so a whole-house clean does not stop halfway while a boiler cools down, and one filling covers up to 75 m² of floor. An integrated descaling cartridge treats the water as it passes through, and a childproof lock on the steam gun keeps the trigger safe between jobs.

What does the Deluxe add over the standard SC3?
The core machine is the same — 1,900 W, 3.5 bar, a 1 litre refill-anytime tank and a 30-second heat-up. The Deluxe adds the illuminated LED ring on the body that tells you when the steam is ready, and this Home version comes with a power brush and a brass brush on top of the standard accessory set.
Can I use it on wooden floors?
Sealed hard floors are fine — tiles, stone, vinyl and sealed laminate or wood. Unsealed, oiled or waxed wood is not suitable, because steam can lift the finish. Kärcher advises testing an out-of-the-way patch first and keeping the nozzle moving rather than holding it in one spot.
Do I need to buy cleaning detergent for it?
No. The SC3 cleans with steam from ordinary tap water, so there is nothing to add and no detergent film left on the surface afterwards. The integrated descaling cartridge handles limescale from hard water as the water passes through.
Do I have to wait for it to cool down before topping up the water?
No. The tank refills at any point during cleaning, so you can keep going straight through a job instead of stopping for a pressure vessel to cool.
