Dimplex FX20VEW 2kW Downflow Wall Mounted Fan Heater, White
The FX20VEW mounts high on the wall and pushes warm air downwards, which is why it heats a room so much faster than a heater sitting at floor level — the warmth arrives where you are standing instead of drifting up to the ceiling first. Dimplex rate it for kitchens, utility rooms and other dry indoor spaces.
It puts out 2kW, with a 1kW option that is selected when the heater is installed. A pull-cord handles everyday on and off, while scheduling, temperature and the seven-day timer are set through the Dimplex ConfigR app. Adaptive start learns how long the room takes to warm and begins early so it is up to temperature when you want it.
This is the Series A generation of the FX range and it is built to the Lot 20 ERP 2025 standard, with a seasonal space heating efficiency of 92% and standby draw of just 0.19W. It is designed to drop onto the fixings of the previous FX heaters, so it is a straight swap if you are replacing one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the app to use it?
Yes, and this is the one thing to know before you buy. Dimplex's own instructions state the heater will not operate or produce heat until it has been configured using the ConfigR app. After that the pull-cord handles everyday on and off.
Is this the same as the older FX20VE?
No. The FX20VEW is the newer Series A model and is a different product, not a colour variant — both are white. It is built to fit the previous FX range's wall fixings, so it replaces one directly.
Where is it meant to be installed?
Dimplex describe it for kitchens, utility rooms and other dry indoor spaces. It is rated IP22 and mounts high on the wall so the warm air is directed downwards.
How do I get 1kW instead of 2kW?
The output is set when the heater is installed rather than switched day to day, so decide which you want before it goes on the wall.
What does adaptive start do?
It learns how long your room takes to warm up and fires the heater early, so the room is at temperature at the time you asked for rather than only starting to heat then.
