GTA 40 Cordless Pruner tool only: for professional tree and shrub care

The GTA 40 is STIHL’s first dedicated battery-powered pruner for professional use. Part of the AS System and powered by 2x AS 2 lithium-ion batteries, this tool has been designed for use on the ground or in the air*. Ideal for tree and shrub care, professional work in horticulture and landscaping as well as processing wood on construction sites and working in tree canopies or on crown reduction tasks.

The powerful EC engine and ¼” PM3 saw chain enables clean cutting and the variable chain speed allows full control of the cutting speed during use. The GTA 40 also has a sprocket cover with side-mounted chain tensioning and automatic chain lubrication, as well as a tool-free chain oil tank with sufficient volume for use with 6x AS 2 batteries.

A soft rubberised handle and upper grip helps prevent slipping during use. The claw-shaped deflector at the top of the tool separates the upper grip area from the cutting attachment. Please be aware that the GTA 40 has been designed for use with 2 hands. Can be used by both right and left-handed users thanks to the rocker on both sides of the tool. An attachment ring lets you hook the tool on a belt for easy access whether you are working in the air or on the ground. Available separately is the GTA 40 holster for quick access during work.

The GTA 40 uses 2x AS 2 batteries which are discharged in parallel. The tool cannot be used with only one battery. The charge level indicator of the tool is located on the top of the tool in an easy-to-read position. Using the supplied AL 5-2 high-speed charger, you can quickly recharge 2x AS 2 batteries simultaneously in 50 minutes.

Certified in accordance with IPX4 protection class means the GTA 40 and AS 2 batteries can be used in adverse weather conditions and is splashproof.

Key Features

CONSTANT POWER, REGARDLESS OF BATTERY CHARGE STATUS. With other brands of battery tools, the performance usually decreases during work as the battery discharges. This is not the case with STIHL cordless power tools with CONSTANT POWER. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your STIHL power tool works with consistently high power.

Side-mounted chain tensioning allows for protected, easy and quick chain tensioning and replacement. The tensioning screw is inserted laterally through the sprocket cover.

Thanks to the bayonet closure, you can open and close the tool-free fuel cap in just a few simple steps.

The nuts are attached to the sprocket cover in a captive manner. This makes it impossible for the nuts to fall off and get lost when the cover is removed.

To secure the garden pruner against falling during climbing work, the overload ring included in the scope of delivery is attached to one of the attachment eyes on both sides and then attached to the climbing harness, for example with a carabiner hook and a short rope.

At the push of a button, the LED charge-level indicator will inform you at any time about your battery’s remaining capacity. This allows you to efficiently plan working hours and charge the battery in good time.

The IPX protection classes define the moisture protection of electrical or electronic devices. The moisture protection test is defined in different stages. IPX4 certifies protection against splashwater from all sides. Battery-powered tools with this certification are therefore designed for daily use, even in rainy conditions.

Delivery Terms for Appliances and Old Appliance Removal

If you purchase a washing machine or any other appliance and request the removal of your old appliance, please specify this in the comment section at checkout. Ensure that your old appliance is disconnected and placed outside the premises, ready for collection.

Please note that our drivers can only deliver to your doorstep and are not permitted to enter your property.

Returns Policy

Damaged and Faulty Goods

If your goods are damaged or faulty, we will replace the goods free of charge. If you do not want a replacement, delivery charges may be incurred to collect the item from you. Do not install any damaged items. This counts as acceptance of goods and the item is then non-returnable and non-refundable. Damaged goods must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, please contact us by emailing websales@beattys.ie or by phone on (091) 841403. In the event that goods are received in a damaged state please retain the product together with any packaging and contact us within 48 hours of receipt with photographic evidence. In the case of an item being faulty we may require an inspection by a manufacturer's qualified engineer to be carried out on the item in the location where it is installed. This is so the nature of the fault can be ascertained before we can arrange for a replacement.

All products leave our premises in perfect condition. The customer must notify the carrier (or postman) of even the slightest trace of damage (holes, signs of crushing, etc.) to the parcel, and refuse the package if necessary.

Unwanted Goods

Do not install or use any unwanted items. This counts as acceptance of goods and the item is then non-returnable and non-refundable. You have a statutory right to return unopened goods up to 14 days after receiving your order (“the cooling off period”) and then a further 14 days to return the products. If you are not ordering a replacement, a charge may be incurred to collect the item from you. You must notify us of your wish to cancel within 14 days, starting the day after delivery. You have the choice of returning the goods via your own means ( Beattys of Loughrea, Church Street, Loughrea, Co. Galway) or requesting that we collect them. If you request collection, we will collect the goods on the next available date that one of our delivery vehicles is in your area. You have a duty of care while the goods are in your possession and we reserve the right to charge you for any damage that may have occurred during this period.

We reserve the right to apply re-handling charges for returned items under some circumstances:

The goods received back are 'as new' but incomplete; i.e. missing components and/or accessories.
The returned products are missing their original packaging.
The cancellation was requested after the 14 day notification period.

We do not accept returns and will not provide refunds under the following circumstances:

The goods you wish to return are in any condition other than 'as new'.
The goods have been installed and/or used.
Cables have been cut or terminated.

Refunds will be reimbursed within 30 working days of the cancellation date.
