The STIHL FSA 50 is an battery-powered grass trimmer that is perfect for taking on trimming, mowing and lawn edging work in your home garden. Part of the AK System of battery tools, this grass trimmer has low noise emissions you don’t have to worry about disturbing any neighbours either.
The FSA 50 is supplied with the AutoCut C 3-2 mowing head which can be refilled without the need for tools. It can also be used with the PolyCut 3-2 too (sold separately). The grass trimmer is fitted with a soft grip round handle that can be adjusted without the need for tools. It also has a re-designed adjustable telescopic shaft and a mowing head that can be set at 3 different angles. This helps you to trim in awkward areas, such as underneath benches or when mowing along slopes, around trees or on uneven terrains. A newly designed spacer bracket protects the grass trimmer from damaging fragile objects such as plants and flowers too. Plus, the mowing head can be rotated 90 degrees for trimming along lawn edges.
A variable speed trigger allows you to precisely control the speed of the mowing head, which helps to extend the working life of your battery too. Excellent balance and a low weight make this an ideal entry-level grass trimmer for operators of all ages and abilities.
On a full charge with the AK 10 battery, the FSA 50 has a working time of up-to 25 minutes. What’s more, this battery provides perfect balance when used, making work even more comfortable!

CONSTANT POWER, REGARDLESS OF BATTERY CHARGE STATUS. With other brands of battery tools, the performance usually decreases during work as the battery discharges. This is not the case with STIHL cordless power tools with CONSTANT POWER. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your STIHL power tool works with consistently high power.
To cut lawn edges comfortably, precisely and quickly, you can turn the mowing unit by 90° with a few simple movements. This means that vertical cuts for lawn edges can be made in a normal working position, and sharp contours along paths or flower beds can be easily cut out.
The mowing unit can be angled in several stages, allowing you to comfortably adjust the grass trimmer to your own height and also to the working environment. This allows you to work particularly comfortably under obstacles such as benches.
It is easy to adjust the loop handle of this brushcutter to your own height simply by tilting it. Doing so allows you to work for longer without fatigue. The height can be adjusted without using any tools.
Quickly and conveniently adjust the speed of your power tool to the respective work situation. Doing so reduces energy consumption at low speeds, and in this way extends the battery runtime. The practical control handle with speed control allows you to make the relevant adjustment without having to change your grip or pause work.
The power tool has an integrated carrying ring. This allows you to store your power tool safely and compactly.
Thanks to the length-adjustable shaft, you can work very comfortably and with minimum strain on your back. To do so, simply adjust the shaft to your height and working method, without tools.
The softgrip handle integrates the control lever for switching on and off as well as a control lever lock, to make it easier to operate your cordless brushcutter. Not only is it easy to grip, but it also absorbs some of the vibrations that arise during operation.
If the blades on the mowing head become worn, you don't need to go and fetch new replacement blades: a replacement blade can be easily stored on the power tool. This allows you to rapidly replace parts and quickly continue your work.
The spacer bar protects objects and plants as well as the cutting attachment. It means that when mowing, you can be certain of trimming precisely, without damaging plants, bark or objects. The cutting tool does not cut beyond the position of the bar. However, the front part of the spacer bar is made from flexible material, so that you can push against it if necessary and then get even closer to objects when trimming. This makes it possible to carry out clearing work in a controlled and thorough manner. You can fold the bar up or down as needed.

If you purchase a washing machine or any other appliance and request the removal of your old appliance, please specify this in the comment section at checkout. Ensure that your old appliance is disconnected and placed outside the premises, ready for collection.

Damaged and Faulty Goods
If your goods are damaged or faulty, we will replace the goods free of charge. If you do not want a replacement, delivery charges may be incurred to collect the item from you. Do not install any damaged items. This counts as acceptance of goods and the item is then non-returnable and non-refundable. Damaged goods must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, please contact us by emailing websales@beattys.ie or by phone on (091) 841403. In the event that goods are received in a damaged state please retain the product together with any packaging and contact us within 48 hours of receipt with photographic evidence. In the case of an item being faulty we may require an inspection by a manufacturer's qualified engineer to be carried out on the item in the location where it is installed. This is so the nature of the fault can be ascertained before we can arrange for a replacement.
All products leave our premises in perfect condition. The customer must notify the carrier (or postman) of even the slightest trace of damage (holes, signs of crushing, etc.) to the parcel, and refuse the package if necessary.
Unwanted Goods
Do not install or use any unwanted items. This counts as acceptance of goods and the item is then non-returnable and non-refundable. You have a statutory right to return unopened goods up to 14 days after receiving your order (“the cooling off period”) and then a further 14 days to return the products. If you are not ordering a replacement, a charge may be incurred to collect the item from you. You must notify us of your wish to cancel within 14 days, starting the day after delivery. You have the choice of returning the goods via your own means ( Beattys of Loughrea, Church Street, Loughrea, Co. Galway) or requesting that we collect them. If you request collection, we will collect the goods on the next available date that one of our delivery vehicles is in your area. You have a duty of care while the goods are in your possession and we reserve the right to charge you for any damage that may have occurred during this period.
We reserve the right to apply re-handling charges for returned items under some circumstances:
- The goods received back are 'as new' but incomplete; i.e. missing components and/or accessories.
- The returned products are missing their original packaging.
- The cancellation was requested after the 14 day notification period.
We do not accept returns and will not provide refunds under the following circumstances:
- The goods you wish to return are in any condition other than 'as new'.
- The goods have been installed and/or used.
- Cables have been cut or terminated.
Refunds will be reimbursed within 30 working days of the cancellation date.
