NordMende HGX703BGL 70cm 5 Burner Gas Hob with Wok Burner, Black Glass
Black glass rather than stainless steel, which is the first thing you notice. It reads as a flat dark surface in the worktop instead of a metal panel, and it wipes clean in a way a brushed steel hob never quite does.
Seventy centimetres and five burners, one of which is a central wok burner — a high-intensity ring sized for a round-bottomed pan. That is what you need for stir-frying properly, and for anything that wants heat faster than a standard burner will give it.
The pan supports are cast iron, continuous across the hob rather than four separate frets, so a heavy pot slides from one burner to the next instead of being lifted.
Automatic ignition from the dial, and a flame failure safety device that shuts the gas off if a flame goes out — a draught, a boil-over, a pot moved off the ring. Stainless steel front controls keep your hand away from the pans while you adjust.
A gas conversion kit comes with it.
