The CREAMi works backwards from every other ice cream machine. Instead of churning a liquid base while it freezes, you freeze the base solid first and the machine then shaves the frozen block down to a smooth, creamy texture. That is why it handles everything from gelato to a protein shake with the same mechanism.
Eleven one-touch programmes: Ice Cream, Frozen Yoghurt, Sorbet, Smoothie Bowl, CreamiFit Protein, Milkshake, Frappé, Gelato, Dairy Free, Lite Ice Cream and Mix-In. Each one spins at a different speed and depth for the texture that style needs — a sorbet is not treated like a gelato.
Dairy Free and Lite are the ones that make this useful rather than a novelty. Oat, almond or coconut bases work, and so do low-sugar ones, so a household with different diets gets one machine instead of an argument.
This is the XL, which means two 710ml family-size tubs rather than the smaller single-serve ones. Each tub yields about twelve 60ml scoops — enough for a family pudding, not just one bowl.
