Qualità Oro is Lavazza's gold blend and the one most people mean when they talk about Lavazza. It is 100% Arabica — no robusta at all — grown in Central and South America and given a medium roast, which is what keeps it sweet rather than bitter. Intensity 8 out of 13: full enough to taste properly through milk, nowhere near the harsh end.
The cup is floral and fruity with a long aftertaste. Lavazza describe it as sweet and refined, and that is a fair description — it is a blend that rewards drinking as a straight espresso, though it holds up perfectly well in a latte.
These are A Modo Mio capsules, which means they fit Lavazza's own A Modo Mio machines. They are not Nespresso capsules and will not fit a Nespresso machine, a Dolce Gusto or a Tassimo — worth checking your machine before ordering.
