Himalayan Salt Lamp, 5-7kg
This is the big one. 5-7kg of hand-carved Himalayan salt, which is a proper lump of rock rather than something that sits politely on a bedside locker. It wants a hearth, a wide sideboard, a deep windowsill or the floor beside a chair.
The size is what you'll notice. There's far more salt for the bulb to work through, so the glow is deeper and warmer and it carries further into the room.
It comes with the bulb and a 1.5m lead with an on/off switch, and it sits on a wooden base. Every one is cut from rock, so you're buying the weight rather than a shape, and the heavier ones tend to be the most dramatic.

Frequently Asked Questions
How big is it?
They're sold by weight rather than height, because every one is a different shape. At 5-7kg this is a substantial piece — think floor, hearth or sideboard rather than a bedside table.
Does it come with a bulb?
It does, along with a 1.5m lead with an on/off switch on it. It takes a small E14 screw bulb, so replacements are easy to come by.
Will it light up a room?
Not in the way a lamp does. It gives a deep amber glow that softens a dark room beautifully, but you'll still want a reading light beside the chair.
Is there a smaller one?
There is. the same lamp comes in a 1.5-2kg size, which suits a bedside table or a desk.
