Faithfull Tile Levelling System, 100 Levellers
Lippage — one tile sitting proud of the one beside it — is the thing that gives away a DIY tiling job, and it is almost impossible to chase out by eye once the adhesive starts to go off. A levelling system holds adjacent tiles flush to each other while the adhesive cures, so the finished floor or wall reads flat.
These work simply: insert the T-pin between two tiles, rotate it 90 degrees and tighten until it clamps onto the underside of the tile, then keep tightening to pull the two tiles level. When the adhesive has gone off but before it is fully dry, rotate the pin back 90 degrees and pull the leveller out. The bodies are polypropylene with nickel-plated steel pins, so they are stiff enough to pull a heavy tile into line and sturdy enough to use again on the next job.
The set contains 100 levellers and two polypropylene spanners to make the tightening easier on the hands.

How does it actually work?
Push the T-pin into the adhesive bed between two tiles, turn it 90 degrees so the T catches under the tile edges, then tighten. The pressure pulls both tiles to the same height and holds them there while the adhesive sets.
When do I take them out?
Before the adhesive has fully dried. Rotate the T-pin back 90 degrees and pull the leveller out. Leave it too long and you will be chiselling it out of a cured bed.
Do these replace tile spacers?
They do a different job. Spacers set the width of the joint; levellers set the height of the tile relative to its neighbour. On large-format tiles most tilers use both.
How many will I need?
It depends on tile size — one at each joint, so a floor of large-format tiles uses far fewer per square metre than a wall of small ones. There are 100 levellers and two spanners in the set.
