DeWalt FLEXVOLT 54V Brushless Paddle Mixer DCD240X2, 2 x 9.0Ah Batteries
A cordless mixer solves the problem every plasterer and tiler knows: the mix has to happen where the material is, and that is rarely beside a socket. This one runs on DeWalt's 54V XR FLEXVOLT platform with a brushless motor, so there is no lead to run out and nothing to trip over on a wet floor.
It has two handles, which is what you want when a full bucket of plaster grabs the paddle. Speed is set on a five position dial rather than by feathering the trigger, so you can drop it down for the initial wetting and bring it up once the mix is moving.
The spindle is a standard M14 thread, so it takes other paddles as well as the 160mm one supplied, and two wrenches come with it for changing them. DeWalt rates it for plaster, render and epoxy.
This is the full kit rather than a bare tool. Two DCB547 FLEXVOLT batteries and a DCB118 fast charger are included, along with the paddle and a carry bag.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are batteries and a charger included?
Yes. Two DCB547 XR FLEXVOLT batteries and a DCB118 fast charger come with it, along with the 160mm paddle, two paddle wrenches and a carry bag. This is the full kit, not a bare tool.
Why do the batteries get called 9.0Ah and 3.0Ah?
They are the same pack. A DCB547 gives 9.0Ah when it is in an 18V tool and 3.0Ah when it is in a 54V tool, because the cells reconfigure for the higher voltage. Listings that say 3.0Ah and listings that say 9.0Ah are describing the same battery.
Will the batteries run my other DeWalt tools?
XR FLEXVOLT packs switch automatically between 54V and 18V depending on the tool they are fitted to, and DeWalt states they are backwards compatible with the 18V XR range.
Can I fit a different paddle?
Yes. The spindle is a standard M14 thread and it takes paddles up to 160mm. Two wrenches are supplied for changing them.
What is it rated to mix?
DeWalt lists plaster, render and epoxy. The manual specifically rules out mixing food, and any easily combustible or explosive fluid.
