Cryptic Killers: Murder of a Musician
A session saxophonist dies under suspicious circumstances in the middle of a recording session at Monastery Road Studios in London. The music stops, the studio falls quiet, and the case is never solved — until you pick up the file. Cryptic Killers: Murder of a Musician is your way into the investigation.
This is a cold case investigation game worked together as a team of detectives, not a scripted party game with assigned characters. Across 26 pieces of physical evidence — reports, statements, photographs and more — you'll piece together what really happened inside the studio that night.
It's the longest case in the range, so set aside around three and a half hours for a full investigation, with a free online evidence portal on hand for extra digital clues.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do we need to assign characters or act anything out?
No. Murder of a Musician isn't a character-assignment party game — there's no host and no scripts. Everyone investigates the same case file together as a team of detectives.
What happens if we get stuck?
Use the built-in hint system whenever the trail goes cold, or check the free online evidence portal for extra digital clues to help move things along.
Is this suitable for a couple, or do we need a full group?
Either. It's built for 1 to 10 players, so it works solo, as a couple, or with a full games night group.
How long does a full investigation take?
Around three and a half hours — the longest case in the Cryptic Killers range, so it's worth setting aside a full evening.
How do we find out if we got it right?
Once you've settled on a final suspect, check your accusation against the game's solution reveal to see if you cracked the case.
