Judge Kitchen 40 x 22cm Beech Cutting Board
A good wooden board is one of those quiet kitchen things you use every single day and barely think about — until you go back to a plastic one. This solid beech board from Judge is a proper everyday size at 40 x 22cm, with enough room for a head of broccoli, a chicken or a loaf of bread without anything sliding off the end.
Beech is naturally antibacterial and, crucially, it's kind to your knives — it won't dull an edge the way a hard plastic or glass board will. A substantial 1.5cm thickness keeps it steady on the counter, and it's handsome enough to carry straight to the table with cheese and crackers on it.
Like all real wooden boards it wants a hand wash rather than the dishwasher, and the occasional rub of mineral oil to keep the grain looking well.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can it go in the dishwasher?
No. Judge specify hand wash only — don't soak it, and dry it straight after washing. A dishwasher cycle will dry out and split a solid wooden board.
How do I keep it in good condition?
Wash and dry it thoroughly before the first use, dry it immediately every time after washing, and rub it over occasionally with mineral oil to feed the grain.
Will it blunt my knives?
No — beech is a forgiving surface that won't dull knife edges the way glass or hard plastic boards do, and it is naturally antibacterial.
Is there a different shape or size?
Yes. The Judge Kitchen 50 x 14cm Beech Cutting Board is the long, narrow version, and the Judge Kitchen 40 x 30cm Beech Pizza Board is the largest of the three.
