The whole argument for a trigger clamp is that you can work it with one hand while the other hand holds the job. Pony Jorgensen have been making clamps in the States since 1903, and the E-Z HOLD is the one most workshops end up with half a dozen of.
This is the heavy-duty version at 12in (300mm) capacity, with a 600 lb load limit — enough to pull a glue joint properly closed rather than just holding two pieces near each other.
Two features set it apart. It converts to a spreader clamp, so the same tool pushes apart as well as pulls together. And Pony's patented joining feature lets you link two clamps together to get more than double the opening capacity of a single clamp — which saves buying a 36in clamp for the one job a year that needs it.
The contoured comfort grip and quick-release lever make it easy to get a firm grasp and let go again, and the deep-reach pads protect the work from marks and scuffs. Reach is 3 3/8in (about 86mm).
